The workaround is to open another Far window. The ConMan tool can be very useful to handle several console windows.

You don't need to download standard plugins unless you wish to update them. Standard plugins are available out of the box. The “Far Commands” plugin's folder is named FARCmds.

I've been using AdvCompare build 29 and it does cache the comparisons performed. The distributive seems to have been removed from the Russian forum but you can contact the author.

i) Since tab is mapped to pane swapping, how can you auto-complete paths when typing on the Far command line? Use a filename completion plugin and set your own key bindings using macros.
