Most likely your server has the new feature of Win 2003 turned on that
forbids even seeing the folders that you do not have access to via ACIs

t-rex,

The problem with using 16 colors is exactly what you said - they are too close. Half of the colors can not be distinguished easily from another half, regardless of the background. And I am not color blind.

Can the color selection be ever expanded without resorting to console emulators?

Fake the url in (put spaces'n'stuff).
The challange there is that some plugins use registry for their settings. You'd have to hook these in too.

1. You can edit the console palette. 2. 16 coloros is enough for everything, 99.9% of users wouldn't use more even if it was possible. Yeah, right. and "640K of memory is ought to be enough for anybody"(c) Gates. I run out of these the minute I started customizing my FAR's look and feel. ...

News section

Could somebody put a newer post into "News & Announcements", say, about the new open source version of far?
The date of the last post there (Tue Nov 21, 2006 7:39 pm) makes the whole FAR scene look rather dead for the forum visitors.

Now is the time! 2005 apparently was not good, 2007 was much better.

Winelib could help with the WinAPI issue, so perhaps some linux version may be quite realistic (plugins may be worse, but those plugins that are opensource should not be a big problem to "convert" to work under linux too) Well actually FAR runs quite fine AFAIK under Wine console. I could...

Hurray to that

Finally! Cant express my joy! Here in US Midwest nobody seems to know about FAR and I have to explain to everybody why I use it.
But I would never trade it for anything.
FAR+Plugins is the best tool I have in my pocket - without it I work like a slug. BIG THANKS!
