How to set default archiver

It seems Far always defaults to ACE in the "Add to archive" dialog. Is it because ACE starts with "A"? But there is still "7-Zip" before it.

Anyway, how can I set the default archiver or make Far remember the last archiver used in the "Add to archive" dialog?

I say that there has been for years a mailing ling for egnlish speaking users (plugringenglish) along with the mailing list for russian speakers (plugring). I'm sorry if I didn't make myself clear. I was complaining about not having a English language discussion channel for *users* for years. A &qu...

I know, but I want to see them at least in the Windows console (command shell), as shown in the screenshot above.

You mean this "plugringenglish" mailing list has been "misused" as the "inofficial" English mailing list of FAR core developers?

Lucida Console is exactly the font I use, but I still don't see any CJK characters in filenames (they appear correctly in Windows Explorer, of course).

I have English US as default encoding (codepage 437).

Very interesting. What encoding does that system shown above use for non-Unicode applications (sometimes known as "default encoding")? Or how else did you get this "Unicode console"?

By "Russian-centric" I meant: 1. For years there was no way for us English speaking users to exchange ideas and experiences with fellow FAR users since the FidoNet channel was Russian only. And there was absolutely no way for us to be informed (or even participate by joining discussion) ab...

Seriously, I often feel annoyed and even insulted as a non-Russian-speaking user about how everything around FAR has (or had - it's great there is finally this English forum) to be Russian. I usually have 3 instances of FAR on my computer, it's my most frequently used application besides Firefox. An...

The question is, what does "Unicode support" really mean? If it just mean FAR being able to access files with non-ASCII names, then by all means, it's long due. If it also means FAR supporting non-ASCII input in it's dialgs then there is a long way to go. Ever seen how f*cked up FAR looks ...

Updates are good, changelogs are better...

I'm glad FAR and its "core plugins" seem to be updated more frequently now (even though just as testing versions), but I really miss the changelogs. Now are we supposed to test changes and new features if we don't know what they are? The testing process would be much, much more effective i...
