Unannounced updates

There are some FAR updates which are not announced on http://farmanager.com/updates.php or "Announcements" on this forum. I don't know why. I've found the links on the Russian version of the forum.

Try this HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Far\System\Oem2Unicode Thanks again, worked perfectly. I've replaced 0x221A with 0x00BB (which is included in most of code pages and looks good, ">>"), no more question marks in frames and menus. If anybody want to correct the whole problem, here is the...

Is there a similar value defining the menu check character? For this unexpected behaviour see the topic http://enforum.farmanager.com/viewtopic.php?t=193 Normally I see a question mark as a menu check character, using 'far /8' I get double-accent-u instead of a question mark. It is a change, but no...

See HKCU\Software\Far\System\BoxSymbols (sorry, comments are in Russian) Thank you, this is exactly what I needed! If anybody else experiences the same problem with frame drawing (question marks in some parts of frames), copy this to blahblah.reg and "run" it: REGEDIT4 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\...

...or alternatively: can you make an option/setting that would change the frame drawing characters as follows (Unicode codes in hex) -use 2550 instead of 2564 -use 2550 instead of 2567 -use 2551 instead of 255F -use 2551 instead of 2562 -use something instead of 221A, can be 'x' or 'v' or '+' or '*'...

Panel frame characters

I hope it is not a secret info request, but where in the far.exe file can I find the characters used for panel frame drawing and menu check mark ("v")? The far.exe I have in mind is built 2087, size 724992. The reason for asking is simple: with my selected locale and font, the panel frames...

The attached zip.fmt does not remove the bug.
No problem at all in 1.70 release, all works fine with included MultiArc.

It would be great to have an alternative distribution, without installer, just the big .zip (or .rar or whatever) archive file for not-so-total-newbies :D Same way as alphas are distributed...

Re: Data and time not displayd in ZIP archives in FAR RC 208

Hi everybody!

Good to see the progress in FAR development, thanks!

Same experience. The attached zip.fmt does not remove the bug. I've reverted to the previous version of MultiArc (and .fmt files).

Bluetooth?

Is there any plugin available that supports browsing the Bluetooth "neighbourhood" and connect to other devices for data transfer?

The /a makes no change.

The /ag makes a big change, but I wouldn't call it an improvement :) I'd rather have a single question mark in few places than the whole frame looking that way!

Smarter "Folder history"?

As I very often jump among many different folders, I use folder shortcuts and folder history quite often. And there is always a lot of "garbage" on the folder history list. Let's say I went from C:\ to e.g. C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC, then did Ctrl-PgDn few times, then went elsewhere,...

You can try and use the lucida console font for the console windows (it is set in the properties of the console window). Tried this already, no luck :( One of NC clones I used for a while ages ago made the frames in a bit different way to avoid the issue: instead of the character looking like ||- i...

The ? in FAR frames

First of all: Hello everybody! I am a many-years-long everyday user of FAR, that was my first registered shareware application... Thanks to you guys for the truly excellent tool! A small question: after changing default encoding for non-Unicode programs, the FAR panel frames are not shown properly: ...
