It's not that they necessarily bother me so much, it just seems like a bug. When you select the English language during the install of a software package you generally get just that; English language files. Since the Far install does something other then that it could technically be described as eit...

There were Russian versions of .lng, .hlf, readme's, etc scattered throughout many directories, not just one. I deleted a lot of files that weren't English language specific. Just curious; what's the benefit of asking for a language when all the files are going to be installed anyway? Is that so the...

RC2 installs multple languages

When I installed RC2 on my system I selected the English language, but some of the files installed were for the Russian language too. Shouldn't it install only the files from the selected language? There's no need for English speaking people to have Russian files, or vice a versa.

Well, I think the problem is somewhere on your end, maybe not every thing was imported or exported from registry or something like that. I thought of that possibility as well, so I ran ClearPluginsCache and the RestoreSettings a 2nd time. Made no difference -- the colors still didn't transfer. I pl...

Re: Store settings in INI instead of registry

It would be very nice if the settings were stored in an ini,xml or whatever file instead of the registry because FAR could be used as a portable application. So we could use it on machines where there aren't rights to change the registry. I always thought that would be a good idea too. While the ba...

File Highlighting color problem

I ran into an interesting bug. At least it appears to be a bug. I'm using 1.70 alpha 6 build 2069. The machine I'm using at home, where I built my configuration, is Windows 2000 SP4. I have everything configured just so. Recently, I switched jobs. They gave me a desktop, also running Windows 2000 wi...

I know it's happened to me on several occasions as well, so I understand the need for such a feature. But to be honest, that does sound like something FAR should be able to handle without the need for a plugin.

Well, that did it -- I can now see all of the attribs. Thanks (and that's precisely why I like a WhatsNew file, so I know about these little things :D) Exactly what is the Indexed attribute anyway? There's nothing in Help about it. And is there a way I can make it so that attrib isn't shown at all? ...

On Win98 I don't see any attributes displayed in file panels. On Win2K I only see the letter I, no other attributes. On build 2051 and 2060 CtrlA shows the attributes correctly checked, but on 2060 there is a new attribute on Win2K that's not in 2051: Index. That's always checked for every file, and...

You might have noticed that the 2051 news contain some russian text. I did notice that myself. Someone had posted a question about it on the forum too, and the response mentioned a translation issue. Since most of it was in English I was able to find out what the majority of the changes were. And y...

Attributes not being displayed?

On build 2060 I'm no longer seeing file attributes (build 2051 works fine). I tried far /p, and ClearPluginsCache.Bat, but I get the same result -- no attributes displayed. Is anyone else having this problem? I'm running Windows 98SE.

That's odd, because for build 2051 I did find a WhatsNew.

Will there be a change log in the future?

Different version number

FYI... the new build of FAR comes up as 2060 in the help file, not 2058 as the annoucement says.

Also, is there a WhatsNew for this build? I always like to check and see what new toys have been included! :D
