Changing drive/folder

Post by wiesl »

Hello!

I'm a long time registered user of FAR and it's the best tool ever ...

I used FAR 1.70Beta5 for a long time and liked the following feature:
Panel 1: Drive C:, Directory C:\DIR1
Panel 2: Drive C:, Directory C:\DIR2

When I wanted to change Panel 2 to the drive/directory of Panel 1 (C:\DIR1) I did the following:
I changed Panel 2 to e.g. D: and then back to C:.
Afterwards I had C:\DIR1 in Panel 2.

This doesn't work any more in the Latest Alpha Versions (Currently I'm using 1.70alpha6 Build 1736).

Any ideas to get this to work with few shortcuts again with FAR?

Thank you for the answer.

Ciao,

This still works:
  1. Switch the active panel to the one that already contains C:\DIR1.
  2. Set the passive panel's current drive to C:, using either Alt+F1 or Alt+F2 (depending on the panel position).
FWIW, this is the way I've always done it. I wasn't aware of your method.

Yes, this works for 1.70Beta5, but not with the latest alpha versions.

This is an "optimized version" of changing I did (without changing to another drive.)

Did you try it with the latest alpha version?

Thanx

Yes; I tried it before posting, just to be sure. Works fine.

Actually, I tried your way just now, and it works fine too -- as long as the panel being switched to drive D: and back is the passive one.

I'm using version 1.70 alpha 6 (build 2060). You might want to update your installation to the latest build as well.

Yes, I tried the latest 1.70 alpha (build 2060) and it doesn't work for me. (1.70 Beta 5 is ok).

Thanx
