What do you think about a plugin pack?

You want to talk about Far Manager, but don't know where to turn?

What do you think about a plugin pack?

Post by KtW »

...I've See t-rex replying at evert Our post suggesting Us all to use that or this pluging ;)

...Well if we make a "Must Have" plugin list?

...Do You think will be a nice idea? (expecially for novice users)

...Recently i've learned of some plugins that before i've ingored because I don't think that can be useful to me LOL!!! :)

...If we compile a pluginsfaq.txt with a good description and list about what our "Must Have" plug-in can do, I think that the community can be grateful and expand with more speed... :)

The Underscore has english .lng strings, but there is no english help and readme currently (so you may try it at your own risk).

The plugin "Named Folders".

Code: Select all

This plugin can be used for fast access to local, net and virtual
directories in the FAR. Using "cd::abc" you set short name "abc" for
the directory, opened in the active FAR panel. Then you can jump
to this directory executing "cd:abc".

  • dirhotlist
    EMenu
ProcList (especially the F3 functionality to check loaded DLLs and the complete filename+cmdline parms)
    Services
Uninstall (the Win2000+ uninstall dialog is so damn slow)
UWizard (many text files incl. REG files are Unicode!)
    VersionInfo (ultra-important for Admins!)
plus (already mentioned):
  • BackgroundCopy (with BCI addon)
    Colorer
These are the things I mostly use along with some KeyMacros, for example Ctrl+D to get to DirHotlist, Ctrl+Alt+F5/F6/F8 to get to Background copy/move/delete and Ctrl+S to get to Services (in Services mode) and the most important F11 menu entries with fixed shortcut keys.
