Ah, and you need some other font, as Lucida Console does't have asian characters.

So how did you do that, floe? Is that a special pre-version that supports Unicode?

It's just some config for chinese locale, not unicode, and can not input chinese :(
---------------------
far.exe /aw
codepage set to 936 (chinese prc)
using chinese font nsimsun 14 point
and patch far.exe to change some pseudographics characters to ascii(I can not find all :( )

Hello! :D

I yes need a lot of a version supported for unicode characaters. Because in Portuguese language there are a lot of accents and neither all of them work on FAR's current summer.

BTW.: Is there some date precision for implementation of this characteristic to FAR??

Thanks!

I would very nice and would same a lot of time for us.

PS. i think this is a major feature that could break viewer and editor plugins compatibility but it's like in mozilla - if those plugins are really use someone will update them soon :)

I desperately need this feature.
If realised, such feature can make 'Far' the most successfull manager for nearest ten years.

Direct enter of unicode symbols in HEX/UNICODE_DESCRIPTION mode (without installed input languages)
Copy from clipboard in unicode mode
Copy to clipboard in unicode mode
Unicode in directory and file names
Unicode in command line (CTRL-Enter, Ctrl-F - copy file names to command line in unicode)
Unicode in internal viewer (UTF-8)
Unicode in internal editor (UTF-8)
Unicode awareness in internal editor in ansi mode (allow to copy/convert UTF-8 encoded characters to unicode and unicode to utf-8 encoded characters)
Unicode support in hex mode
and a lot more...

Support of two character wide symbols would be great.

Freeware builtin unicode mono(duo)spaced font supplied with manager would be more than great.

I think Unicode support in file names, the editor, etc. is essential for the future of FAR Manager.

I would like to see UTF-8 in editor - maybe this is the most wanted feature.

I don't need unicode at all. As long as it doesn't break anything else, I don't mind having it, but as far as I am concerned, it is something that can wait.

I am longing for internal utf8 support!

Is there any hope to has it in the near future?

Or is there any solution to use utf8 in the internal editor easy?

The UWizard plugin adds Unicode support. Is this enough for your purposes?
