Rename file (Copy Access Rights)

Post by jsheridan »

When copying a file from a directory, to a new directory without NTFS Change Permissions rights, rename file returns an error:

"Cannot set file access rights for ..."

Which ofcourse is correct, however annying since "Copy Access Rights" Is enabled by default.

I Suggest one of the following:

1. Allowing control over the default rename settings
2. Detection of target NTFS Change Permissions
3. Changing the default

Thanks in advance

Does this problem exist in 2020 build of Far Manager or it's an earlier build?

A new TechInfo was added for complete control of the state of the copy access rights option. Await a newer FAR build.

Using 2031 and still having issues

Post by jsheridan »

Just upgraded to latest build (2031) and from some reason, with the checkbox disabled, it still tries to copy access rights.

(When moving files on a mapped server folder, from copying between two different network shares)
