loosing focus

Post by marius »

Hi,

When far is in the middle of an action (like copying multiple files),
if it's window losses focus, far stops till focus is regained.

How can this be solved ?

Thanks.

What do you mean by stops? Stops copying? Never seen such a thing.

Yes, exactly. It stops copying.
Can it be related somehow with pcanywhere ?

Don't have a clue as to why pcAnyWhere should cause such a problem. I use Remote desktop and no such thing happens.

Are you sure it stops its job? How do you judge?
Maybe it's just that Windows redraws Far screen less often?
pcAnywhere might well add to it.

Yes, absolutely sure.
When clicking somewhere on the far window to put it back on focus,
it continues.

Once again. How do you know it stopped copying (i.e. it's not just a matter of window refresh)?

Well, for example, when it's in the process of a file copy, if the file is big enough, you can see that it continues to copy it from the same point that it stopped when the window is back in focus.

Well Far has no such code that can cause it to stop when loosing focus, but I also can't imagine how pcAnyWhere can cause such a behaviour. I used Far remotly using many tools like VNC, telnet, Remote desktop and never seen such problem.
