FileCopyEx plugin

Post by Tocke » Sat Apr 02, 2005 5:54 pm

I have an error message in new Far release. It has problem with FileCopyEx plugin... With this plugin I can copy a lot of small file much more speed! (First copy the files into memory, then write it to target path.)

What is the error? How to reproduce it? What OS are you using? Have you contacted the author of the plugin?

Every time when I started the Far Manager I get an error message: "Error loading plugin module C:\Program files\Far\Plugins\FileCopyEx\FileCopyExA.dll".

I'm using WinXP home.
I have wrote an email to the author of plugin, but he didn't answer...
I have source of the plugin, but I couldn't programming :)

Delete that file, under windows XP you only need FileCopyExW.dll

I have a few questions regarding FileCopyEx, too. I don't read russian so I can't look it up in the help file:

1) How exactly do I use the queue?

2) FileCopyEx first reads as much source files into memory and then writes it to disk. Which is a fine and perfectly logical thing to do. Except in Paralel Copy - it means writing won't start until FileCopyEx fills those buffers, which is quite a long time on my computer (2.5 GB RAM). Is there a way to let FileCopyEx use up to e.g. 200 MB of memory for buffers, but start writing as soon as e.g. 256 KB of data is read (as opposed to the usual behavior of waiting until the whole 200 GB are filled)?
