Hello!
When you have files with the following characters these files are
1.) not displayed correct
2.) cannot be copied because it is not found
Example:
À.txt
È.txt
Ì.txt
Ò.txt
Ù.txt
The letters must be uppercase, lowercase works well!!
(So A, E, I, O, U with a ` before entered)
This happens with 1.70 Release and 1.71 alpha3 (build 2126).
I think there are also some other filenames which can not be copied but I don't have an example yet.
Since you can't copy directory trees which such letters in the filename this is a major bug!
When do you plan to fix it?
Thnx.

Character set bug
Re: Character set bug
There are also problems with files that have a ´ inside the filename. They cannot be copied, too.wiesl wrote:Hello!

BTW: Viewing with F3 works well (Files are converted to XXE57D~1.txt), but pressing enter for opening with the associated program doesn't work, too.

But it is also a display bug, not only a file copy bug:HaRT wrote:wiesl
Lacking support for file names containing Unicode characters is a well-known bug. To work it around consider using Background Copy or FileCopyEx plugins. They are far smarter than built-in copying and both have their own pros & cons.
e.g. À.txt is displayed as A.txt
I think this should be fixed in FAR and not with a plugin ....
