Could you explain a litlle more? What is SU - mqm? To work with unix shells it's better to use the WSCP plugin, it supports ssh/scp.

Probably it's the same problem as discussed recently on the Russian forum. I suggest uncommenting section 3 in the %FARHOME%\Plugins\FTP\TechInfo.reg file (and, of course, importing it to the Registry then).

Question about the built in ftp client in Far.

Post by cdysthe »

Hi,

I recently came from Linux to Windows (have to for work purposes). I was an avid Midnight Commander user on Linux and found Far to be as close as I can get on Windows. I am going to need the built in FTP client, but I'm not able to figure it out. On MC after you have logged in the remote directories shows up in one of the panes so you can work with them like you would with local files. In far I can only seem to get a command line interface for ftp. Am I missing something, or is this plug-in command line only?

There is a FTP plugin. Choose it in Alt+F1 (Alt+F2) dialogue window. After opening it, add new ftp session by Shift+F4.

Command line interface comes with windows OS, doesn't have anything to do with FAR.

copying from FTP site to Temp panel

Post by cool01 »

I just wish to copy all files from FTP site to Temp panel, check some of them there, delete, and then copy them from Temp panel to local drive.
My intention is just to copy huge FTP site but without some undesired files.
But when I try to do so in FAR, files starting to copy to Temp panel.
Can be this avoided somehow?
